Reflection #8

I have truly learned a lot this semester about technology and the different uses for them.  I believe that as a future teacher I will be able to implement all these wonderful resources, I have learned; in my own classroom.  Anywhere from using a wiki or blog site to communicate with parents, students, or fellow teachers.  Using podcast to create lessons to communicate with my students or even to share with other teachers and even being able to use this to reteach something that the students might have forgotten how to do.

It is truly amazing how much technology affects our lives as a whole.  We all have cell phones, computers, video cameras, cameras, video games, etc.  Being able to use these resources in the classroom will truly have a great impact on our digital learners.  All I have to say is there is no way that you can get away from technology, so I encourage everyone to embrace it and take it one step at a time and you will enjoy all the opportunities it can bring you and your students.  Don't be afraid to ask for help from your fellow teachers or even students, because face it our students are way more advanced in technology than most of us.  Good luck and enjoy all the uses of technology you have.  :)

Reflection #7

I developed my learning objective to focus on the Cognitive Domain, which my lesson focuses on having the students create, design, organize and generate different things with their photos.  I chose www.picnik.com as my choice of technology because it is something new and different and it gives the students a chance to share their photos with the class and then enhancing their photos or grouping them together by using the scrapbook or collage option.
My expectations for this lesson are the students get the feel for a new type of technology and sense of pride in the work they just created.
I am viewing my instruction differently now, by trying to come up with different ways to use technology in the classroom.  I know I am using a wiki for my ELED 515 class project and it is great because we can easily communicate back and forth to each other and my group loves it.
